I’ve watched and read everything there is to know about the Amazon Hardware Event 2025, and there’s a total lack of innovation. Amazon have officially removed the Echo Dot and the Echo from their lineup, replacing them with a simple choice between the £99 Echo Dot Max or the £219 Echo Studio. The Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 are, technologically speaking, worse than their predecessors in almost every way.

This looks to me like yet another great reason to move everything to Home Assistant or Apple HomeKit. Never Google Home, of course — put them in a bin.
